Thought you would like this exchange set off by some young upstart on
soc.genealogy.britain about older people using computers...

1) That's right you tell 'em! I can give you a few months but how many
of these youngsters could program a 48K Spectrum?

2) .....or even an 8K Spectrum!

3) Huh, luxury, try programming a 1k ZX81 and getting it to do your
   accounts :-)

3a) Or even a 2K Acorn Atom?

3b) ZX81 without the Ram pack. That was creative.

4) ZX81? Those of us with a ZX80 used to dream of a ZX81... :)

5) There's always one :-) I gather Mr Babbage had trouble with Windows
   on his calculating engine.

6) "He was lucky"
... we had to manage in the dark!

7) And wasn't it hard getting the lines straight on those blocks of
   granite!

8) In my day we only had ones and noughts.

9) Ar, in my day, we used our fingers and pointy sticks

10) You were lucky, we had to eat the pointy sticks, if we were lucky.
