Hiya Loonies... Now it's time for some news about a pair of koalas who seem to have had something of an adventure... Wishes & Dreams... - ANDREA xx ******* THE LOONY BIN **** loonies@bloodaxe.com ******* Archive: http://www.theloonies.co.uk/ *********** ANDROMEDA **** Internet Goddess *********** ------- Forwarded foolishness follows ------- NEWS OF OTHER LIFE FORMS Two koalas stolen from their cage at the San Francisco Zoo last month have been rescued by police from a home where their teenage kidnappers had stashed them. Police told the San Francisco Chronicle the teens intended to give the koalas to their girlfriends as Christmas presents. The newspaper said a 17-year-old was arrested on burglary and grand theft charges while his 15-year-old alleged accomplice was still being sought. The rare animals - 15-year-old Pat and her 7-year-old daughter, Leanne - were said to be recovering nicely from their ordeal. Although the slow-moving koala looks benign and spends much of its time asleep, the suspects apparently had their hands full with the two animals, which are native to Australia. When police, acting on a tip, raided the home, they found Pat and Leanne had escaped from the plastic bin where they were being kept and had littered the place with koala droppings.
