THE LAWYER, HIS STUFF, AND THE ATTIC
An elderly and retired attorney was with his wife one day discussing
their estate planning. The lawyer was very successful and had
accumulated a lot of wealth and therefore wanted to take it with him
when he died.
So he told his wife that he was going put all of his valuables in a bag
in the attic so that when he died, he could grab the bag on his way up.
A few years went by and the old lawyer died. A friend of the widow came
over one day to console her and as they were talking, the widow
remembered the bag of valuables in the attic and told her friend about
her husband's idea. When they entered the attic, they found the bag with
all the valuables still there.
The friend sighed, "Oh no, he forgot to grab the bag."
"No," said the widow smartly, "I told him he should have put the bag in
the basement."
